The Documentary Remittance is an instruction given by the exporter to his Bank, to send to the Bank of the importer a commercial document indicating the ownership of the merchandise, accompanied or not by one or more bills of exchange with instructions to deliver the first against a simple acceptance or, acceptance and payment of the bills of exchange.
The intervening banks do not assume the responsibility of paying for the documents, but only to deliver them, fulfilling the instructions issued by the originator.
- Export documentary remittances
After the merchandise has been sent, the documents are delivered to Banco Único, with specific collection instructions, which will in turn be sent to the Bank of the importer. The documents are delivered by rigorously following those instructions (prompt payment, acceptance of a bill of exchange or a written declaration concerning payment).
- Import documentary remittances
Service provided by Banco Único, which consists of receiving a set of documents sent by the Bank of the exporter with specific instructions for collection. Banco Único informs the Client of the arrival of the documents and of terms of delivery of the same (against prompt payment, acceptance of a bill of exchange or written declaration concerning payment at a future date agreed upon).
